Iowa driver fails to yield, causing car to roll and injure 1

Whether it is night or day, drivers in Iowa could encounter risks or dangers on the roadways. In some situations, these dangers are caused by the negligence of another driver. If a driver fails to uphold the standard duty of care, a driver or passenger could suffer greatly. This often amounts to injuries and damages related to the crash, and the injured victim could seek relief through their available legal remedies.

An investigation is still ongoing after a two-car collision in Cedar Falls hospitalized one. According to reports, authorities in Iowa were dispatched to the scene of the accident at the intersection of 20th Street and Olivia Street. The crash occurred around 6:00 p.m. when a driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic. This resulted in the driver T-boning the oncoming car, causing it to roll and landing on its side.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and assessed those involved. The driver of the struck vehicle suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. No other injuries were reported. While investigation continues, officers have no pending criminal charges against the driver at this time.

Once investigation is complete, authorities will be able to determine cause and liability. In a crash like this, officers might cite a driver for the failure to yield to oncoming traffic. In addition to facing a traffic citation, the driver could also endure a civil action. An injured driver might seek compensation for the injuries and damages they suffered. In order to recover a monetary award, the victim could file a personal injury claim.

A negligent driver could easily be the cause of a collision. No matter how serious the car crash, those involved could endure losses due to the injuries they suffered and damages sustained. In order to offset these financial hardships, some victims seek relief through a civil action. Educating themselves about the process could help them file the claim and dealing with any other related issues.
