Two Iowa drivers injured after truck accident

Residents of Iowa understand that traffic can occur at any time. Whether it is during the day, evening or on a weekday or weekend; heavy traffic and delays can happen on roadways all over the state. During times of heavy traffic, it is important that drivers remain attentive. When a driver is following too closely to the vehicle in front of them or when they text and drive, an accident is likely to happen.

Sioux City Police recently responded to a truck accident that occurred on Interstate 29. The collision happened around 9:45 a.m. on a Saturday and involved an automobile and a truck. According to reports, the driver of the car was traveling on highway 20 and took the on-ramp to head south on interstate 29.

While attempting to enter the on-ramp to the interstate, the vehicle came in contact with a truck that was already traveling on the interstate. This caused the truck driver to lose control of his vehicle causing it to roll. The driver of the car then crossed the centerline and struck the barrier in the median.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene of the accident, they found that both drivers were injured. The truck driver suffered a head trauma, while the other driver suffered less severe injuries. Both drivers were transported to the hospital for treatment and observation. The authorities are still investigating the accident and no liabilities have been determined at this time.

In an accident like this where fault and liability have not been determined and both parties have suffered injuries, contributory negligence could be determined to have been present. Victims of car or truck accidents can still collect damages for their injuries, even if they are found to be partially responsible for the accident.

When a person is a victim in a car or truck crash, they should make sure they understand all their available options in pursuing a personal liability lawsuit. A qualified legal professional would be able to explain what steps need to be taken and assist one in obtaining the proper compensation.
