Two fatalities following Iowa motorcycle accident

The warm months often mean spending time outside for Iowa residents. It is also a time when drivers witness more motorcyclists on the road, which in turn also increases the risk for accidents. In part, that is because motorcycles can often go undetected due to the small size of the vehicle and its ability to hide in the blind spot of other vehicles, which makes it especially important for drivers to remain attentive and be on the lookout for all types of vehicles.

Authorities recently responded to a motorcycle accident. The crash, which involved a car and a motorcycle, resulted in three victims. According to preliminary reports, the 17-year-old driver of the car failed to stop at a stop sign. After running the stop sign, a motorcycle t-boned the car. Two persons were on the motorcycle while only the driver was in the automobile.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene of the crash, they assessed all the victims. The driver of the automobile was pronounced dead at the scene. As for the motorcycle, a 56-year-old woman on the motorcycle did not survive her injuries while the other occupant, a 54-year-old man was transported to the hospital for treatment. His conditions at this time are not known at this time.

The fatal collision is still under investigation, but authorities have attributed the cause of the accident to the car driver. The loved ones of the deceased and the injured party could file claims against the negligent driver's estate to seek compensation. A personal injury claim could cover medical bills, damages and pain and suffering. A wrongful death claim could cover medical bills, funeral costs, and lost wages.

Whether a person is injured or killed in an accident, the loved ones of the affected are also affected. An accident will often include financial burdens. The loved ones of a deceased or injured party could lessen the burden through compensation. This could help the recovery or coping process.
